Do you believe in angels?

Synopses:
Desperately clinging to life, a young woman tries to escape as a demented preacher stalks her through the forest. Rosie, a seemingly innocent little girl, arrives just in time to see her mother’s brutal murder. Now, the special gift that her mother spoke of is awakened as Rosie takes her vengeance.

Production Note:
"Rosie Girl" was initially conceived for a short horror film competition. However, as Swanson worked out the draft he saw that there was more to the story and decided to make the film longer than the competition's limit of six minutes. Writing an additional four pages and shooting three more scenes, the film's story became complete and layered in terms of theme and subtext.

Filmmaker's Comment:
T
he most challenging thing about "Rosie Girl" is that it was shot entirely in one day. The planning and other preparation that went into pulling off a smooth shoot was staggering. I spent my Fourth of July mixing fake blood and working out a slightly different ending from what was originally written. The two principle cast members and my assistant director arrived within fifteen minutes of each other early on that Saturday morning. We had about an hour to discuss the day, the characters, and of course have our first read-through of the script. The day was long, but the shoot went smoothly and was also the most fun that any of us had ever had on a set. The mantra for the day was, "more blood!" It was only when I began editing that I realized the terrific work that we had done as the unsettling film began to take shape.
